Custom WordPress plugin designed to display a different site icon in WordPress for separate pages. It checks if the current page is a page and if it has a featured image set. If so it uses the featured image as the site icon. This ensures posts or other types of content are not affected, and those excluded use the default site icon set at Appearance>Customize>Site Identity.
This came about for a need to allow people to save/add a WordPress website page to their phones home screen to access a main page. Needing custom branding for each page when it is saved to a device home screen (the site icon is the app icon on a device home screen for that page).
